The 72V 5A Lead Acid Battery Smart Charger (for 82.8V AGM / GEL / VRLA / OPzV batteries) is a high-voltage intelligent charging unit designed for large 72V lead-acid battery systems, commonly used in electric scooters, e-bikes, solar storage, and industrial battery banks.
It works by converting AC input power (typically 100–120V) into a controlled 72V DC output at 5 amps, which is suitable for charging battery packs that reach a full charge voltage of around 82.8V when fully charged (common for 72V lead-acid configurations).
The charger uses a three-stage smart charging process:
- Constant Current (CC) – delivers steady current for bulk charging
- Constant Voltage (CV) – stabilizes voltage as the battery nears full charge
- Float / Trickle Charge – maintains full charge safely without overcharging
